Mini Maxwell Award

  Mini Maxwell Award

BOOSTER CLUB

The Mini Maxwell Award is awarded at The Maxwell Club’s High School Awards Dinner to the fifty scholastic football players who excel the most at football in the Philadelphia area. The winner of the Jim Henry Award, chosen from the Mini Maxwell Award winners is announced at the award dinner as well. The Jim Henry Award is given to the most impressive high school football player in the Philadelphia area that year.

The recipients of the Mini Maxwell Awards are nominated by their coach and their teammates. The award acknowledges their athletic and academic prowess, as well as community and interscholastic involvement. This is because Jim Henry refused to have an award in his name if the award only gave credit to achievement in football.

At the award ceremony, other awards such as Bert Bell Award for the NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP), the Maxwell Award for the Collegiate Player of the Year, the Bednarik Award for the Collegiate Defensive Player of the Year, and the George Munger Award for the NCAA Coach of the Year, will be presented to football players that are beyond the scholastic level.
